Irit Lepkin is a ceramic sculptor and a photographer with a B.A in Fine Arts from Haifa University. She was born and raised in Israel and later moved to Canada where she graduated from OCAD and opened her studio in Toronto.
Irit participated in many art shows in Canada and the USA. The Gardiner Museum Of Ceramic Art, Burlington Art Centre and Visual Arts Ontario, to name a few. She won several awards and grants over the years in juried and invitational shows. Her work appears in books and magazines including Art And Perception, Ceramics Monthly, and “500 Figures In Clay “and” Raku 500 which will be published in 2011.
Irit’s works are all handmade one of a kind inspired by organic forms found in nature. In some sculptures she incorporates mixed media such as barbed wire and other metal objects to depict the harshness of reality next to the softness of clay.
Irit Lepkin is a member of Fusion -The Ontario Clay And Glass Association, Toronto Potters and the Israeli Group Of Artists.
