The Israeli Artists Group of Toronto was established in 1992 by a small group of Israeli artists. It is comprised of visual and applied artists who work in a variety of media, such as: painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, calligraphy, photography and jewelry.
The artists meet every third Tuesday of each month at one of the member’s homes. Usually there is a guest artist presentation in addition to the social aspect of the meeting. The meetings in the artists’ homes or studios allow deeper understanding of and familiarity with each others’ works.
Other activities are group shows, workshops and participation in community events such as Independence Day, Jerusalem Day, etc.
The Israeli Artists Group is a non-profit organization and all the positions are held by volunteers. Over the years, the members have developed bonds of friendship and provided each other with inspiration, mutual support, and an exchange of artistic knowledge.
Some of the artists in the group are recent immigrants to Canada. Being in our group assists them to acclimatize to the competitive arts community of Toronto.
The year’s activities start in September with a social meeting and end in June with an end of year party.
We invite Hebrew-speaking artists who live in Toronto and its vicinity to join us and become part of the vibrant group of Israeli Artists in Toronto.
