Vision of Light, A Solo Exhibition by  Beata Goik
@ Tank fragment space

Beata’s primary focus is on light and texture. Light in her work speaks about spiritual aspects of our existence and about divine and mysterious presence. The textured and organic emergence of the surfaces relates to our earthly physicality and symbolizes our human struggle with life circumstances and with ourselves. These symbolic images refer to Beata’s own spiritual and emotional development and also to the inner experiences of people who share with her their life journey.

The new book, 500 Raku: Bold Explorations of a Dynamic Ceramic Technique (978-1-60059-474-8), is featuring a work by our ceramic artist member Irit Lepkin.

Officially a March 2011 publication, 500 Raku will release to stores (both brick-and-mortar and online) at the end of January; pre-ordering has already started on Amazon and BN.com. The book is truly exceptional-beautiful and inspiring, a fine contribution to the ceramics canon.

500 Raku, juried by Jim Romberg, is the latest release in Lark’s well-reviewed 500 series.

Two of our artists, ShaKed Kaplan and Moshe Mikanovsky,  just launched their new initiative named ILartTO.

ILartTO logo

This is what they told us:

Our main goal is to enhance artistic opportunities for Israeli artists in Toronto and North America. And we have many ideas on how to do it!

Our first project is an Art Exhibition, that will take place in April 2011, at the Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto. We have published our new Calls for Artists, inviting Israeli and/or Jewish artists from all over the world to submit artwork for the show. The name of the show is “But My Roots Are On Both Sides Of The Sea”. We love this concept of being connected to our roots in Israel even while living in Toronto. And this is the theme of the exhibition.

Attached here is the Calls for Artists information, as well as ILartTO’s website: www.ILartTO.com. Feel free to contact ILarTO for any information regarding the submission and the exhibition.

If you also know anyone who might be interested in this participating at our exhibition, please forward this information to them.

Goodluck ShaKed and Moshe with this great initiative!
